Wow. What an honor! My first song recieved accolades as one of the top ten best electronic releases from San Francisco in 2011 by the SF Weekly.
They said- DJ, and producer Noah Bennett, aka "Dials." "Pillow Forts" is a forward-thinking and futuristic experiment in sub-bass sound design complimented beautifully by shimmering arpeggios and interweaving falsetto harmonies. It's the kind of track that sets a high standard for new bass music coming out of San Francisco.
Blasthaus did a great show (like always) with SBTRKT playing live. Sampha sang, people danced, it was magical.
Read a great review here
I played two sets- and opening set and a closing set. I also did his first show in March (if anyone remembers) with Gold Panda and Com Truise. That one was epic too. Peep the photos below!
Pinch me. I did this great show with FOUR TET, RUB-N-TUG, I CAN'T FEEL MY FACE, SHAWN REYNALDO, JUS WAN, and CHRIS ORR!
Shawn Reynaldo opened with a great set of his favorites and I closed out the night after Four Tet. People actually stayed around and danced, cheered me on. It was a great feeling and an honor to play alongside one of the greats of electronic music. The show was sold out, you could barely walk in that one. Really great night, really great vibes!
Check out the solid crowd for my set! Great photos by Akko Terasawa!
Great photos of Four Tet. Dude was the nicest ever! The crowd screamed for an encore!
Did this show with Zomby, MachineDrum, NastyNasty, Distal and more. It was a headache. Zomby killed it though, totally loved every minute.
Big up LOREN PURCEL From TEAM PRINT SHOP for doing this amazing flyer!
I've got some video that I will upload. Someday. Below is a video from someone in the crowd. Honestly on that night I lost one of my favorite people in the world and I miss them everyday. I won't forget this evening.
I first met SpankRock on a train ride to San Francisco about 4 years ago. I literally sat next to the dude and was like, hey- yr Spankrock! One of the realest and most humble artists out there, Spankrock's new album is an amazing sophmore effort. I remember playing "Backyard Betty" at huge parties, on wa when it came out, mid 2000's. I got the pleasure of performing with him again at the AZIZHABIBI launch party- alongside BC KINGDOM, ALEXIS PENNY, and others. Shout outs to IMMABILLU for making the best music in the bay area! Pictures below!
"MUSIC Noah "DJ Dials" Bennett Cunningham wants to galvanize your pleasure center. "
Emily Savage is really cool. She did this great interview that included 120 Minutes and Dj Dials (me!). It was printed in the paper! The article is called "Drag me to Hell" and it talks about my love of Grave Rave, or whatever. I'm pretty much over dubstep at this point.
Where do I even begin with this one? I mean.. jesus. What a fucking lineup. I curated this show with Marco aka WhITcH from 120 Minutes.
It was blood, sweat, and tears and goths. oOoOOo's first live set in San Francisco, White Ring, Clams Casino's first big show (ever), Shlohmo live, Babe Rainbow's premiere show, Water Borders and D33j all played live.
For me, it was Clams Casino's first live set ever that stole the show. Dude played on a Ipad, all originals and some hot dubs. I really like this guy.
Also' Shlohmo's super hot remix of "I'm On One" took the cake as best Drake moment... Everyone went crazy!
Peep the video below
Big shout outs go to Galen Oakes yet again for providing some amazing photos!
This party was in August. Yes, I know I am behind. Basically I rave out so fucking hard and DJ so much that it takes me fucking months to post updates. Well here you go! Update!
This party was stellar, a big team up with my friends at Hacksaw Entertainment. Big shout out to KRYSTAL KLEAR, aka the bastion of irish good looks, for holding down the changeovers. He's ill. Siriusmo killed it. See the video below.
Here are some pictures! Photo credit goes to JACKIE A PHOTOGRAPHY. She is such a babe. Peep the rest here
I got to play alongside some of my favorite acts, great crowd, it really went off. This party was in March, but I didn't have any good pictures of it until I met Galen. Big shout out to Galen Oakes, who took some amazing shots of the Just Blaze, Hudson Mohawke, and Araab Muzik, show. He's such a talented photographer- check out the rest of his photos of the night here
Huge vibe that night. I had a great set, Blessings came through, TAKE killed it. Best set of the night was probably Hudmo. Just Blaze, btw, is probably one of the best Dj's I've ever seen. Watch out.
